There’s just something special about a Cannon Beach surprise proposal. Joseph + Daeja were going to be traveling to Oregon from Colorado for a vacation and he thought it would be the perfect place to propose, and we couldn’t agree more. When we started planning his Cannon Beach surprise proposal, Joseph shared that he wanted to capture the beauty of the Oregon coast while also getting some quintessential PNW forest vibes. So naturally the first place that popped into our minds was Ecola State Park, possibly our favorite park in all of Oregon. One step in and it feels like you’ve entered a moss filled oasis that you have all to yourself. Plus, it’s a 5 minute drive from multiple stunning beaches.
While taking a stroll along Cannon Beach, Joseph got down on one knee and proposed right in front of Haystack Rock. Daeja was so surprised! And then even more so when we popped out for surprise #2, an impromtu Oregon coast engagement session! We decided to head into the woods of Ecola State Park and get lost in the ferns for a little bit before heading back to Cannon Beach for sunset. We’re glad we did because we experienced the most incredible light peaking through the moss carpeted trees, it was truly magical. When we got back to the beach the sun had begun to set and the Oregon coast put on a real show for us. The sky illuminated with vibrant colors and we ran around the beach until the last bit of light was left.
