Kris' outdoor Oregon Forest Boudoir session was pure magic. When I read the first sentence of Kris' initial inquiry I knew we were going to be the perfect fit. Here's what she shared -
"I am embracing a lot of change and feel like I am finally becoming the person I've always wanted to be, I have been wanting to do a boudoir shoot to celebrate my life and body."
This is what inspires me and gets me so excited about empowering women through boudoir photography! We talked about the freeing feeling of doing the shoot outside, her love of nature, and how we could create the perfect experience for her to celebrate herself. Kris decided to make a weekend out of it so she and a friend rented a gorgeous cabin on the mountain and we decided to split the shoot up into 2 locations to get the best of both worlds. This lush grove of ferns and moss in Mt. Hood National Forest was the perfect location to capture the whimsical Pacific Northwest boudoir photos that Kris envisioned. It's only an hour outside of Portland but it felt like we had traveled deep into the wild and had the whole mountain to ourselves. We started the day frolicking through the trees and laying in beds of moss, surrounded by ferns. It was the quintessential PNW experience that Kris was hoping for. "The past year has been transformative for me and my relationship to my body. I’ve made such amazing improvements in my self love journey and wanted to document this special time in my life. When I reached out to Madye, she was SO excited and supportive! It’s very easy to see how passionate she is about empowering women! She was communicative throughout the whole process and receptive to any ideas I had. When the day came for the shoot, I felt immediately at ease around her. Madye has the best energy!! Not only was the shoot super fun, but getting to frolic around naked in the forest felt…almost spiritual! Once I got to see the images, I was blown away. I feel so beautiful and confident looking at these photos. I’m so grateful for them! Looking back at this act of self love and claiming ownership over my body is something I will cherish forever. I’m so glad I got to work with Madye as she made the experience fun, stress free, and super special!!"
