Short Sand Beach Engagement Photos

There's no better way to showoff the Pacific Northwest than an Oregon Coast engagement session! While Cannon Beach engagement photos might be what first comes to mind, Kendall + Austin wanted to find a quieter, more secluded spot for their couples session and Oswald West State Park provided the perfect location. Short Sand Beach is a small surfers cove surrounded by tree covered cliffs on both sides, a mini waterfall, and tons of moss and greenery on the short, woodsy trail in. These two were so fun to run around the beach with, hopping on huge logs of driftwood that recently floated up on the beach and embracing the rain as if it had been our plan all along. I can't express how important this is! There's no need to get caught up in all the details or thinking everything has to be "perfect". Embrace the imperfections and go with it! Anyone can have a sunny beach session, not everyone gets to have a whole cove all to themselves on a perfect, cloudy Oregon morning! And to be honest, we love rainy shoots! The only thing that really matters that you're celebrating your love for each other and having fun 🙂

Big thanks to Kendall + Austin for being such incredible humans. We can't wait to capture their Portland summer wedding at Blockhouse later this year! We hope you enjoy looking through these moody Short Sand Beach engagement photos as much as we did taking them!
