Last year we had the pleasure of traveling to New York to capture Claire + Alex's Wythe Hotel Wedding in Brooklyn and it was amazing. Originally planning for a May 2020 wedding, Claire + Alex shifted their plans multiple times throughout the pandemic and ended up having a small ceremony at home with just a few friends and family joining via FaceTime. But they still wanted to celebrate in person with all of their loved ones! So they waited out all of the restrictions until it was safe for everyone to gather and threw one of the most beautiful, fun parties we've ever been a part of!
Since they already had their ceremony in 2020 they opted out of doing another one so they could focus on spending as much time as they could with their guests. An added bonus of having that extra time was that we were able to leisurely walk all around the Williamsburg neighborhood and take in the stunning New York City skyline for their portraits. It was so fun to explore this area, get creative, and just have fun with it without the couple feeling rushed or having any other obligations on their day other than to celebrate!
Once we got back to the hotel we snapped a few family photos, featuring Walle - the actual cutest dog in the world, and got the party started! For many of the guests this was the first time since the pandemic that they had gotten to see the couple so the emotions were high and you could feel the joy radiating throughout the room. After the cocktail hour we made our way into the reception and our minds were blown. The industrial, candle lit space was filled with greenery cascading down from the ceiling and beautiful flowers scattered throughout the room. Halfway through their first dance, Claire + Alex invited everyone to join them in a quick power dance to kick off the party before dinner, a new tradition we think everyone should get on board with! The rest of the evening was filled with tear jerking toasts, tons of big belly laughs, incredible food, and one of the best dance floors we've ever been a part of.
