Boudoir Maternity Photos

I recently had the pleasure of capturing my dear friend Katy's in-home boudoir maternity photos and I am OBSESSED with how they turned out! Katy, who is an incredible photographer herself, actually wasn't sure if she wanted to incorporate boudoir into her maternity session. Before the shoot she shared how amazed with her body she was, as it is literally creating LIFE! And how she wanted to capture that strong, powerful feeling but felt a little nervous about being so vulnerable having never done an intimate shoot like this. After talking about her vision and comfortability with including boudoir we decided to ease into it and go with how she was feeling in the moment. Such an important part of being a boudoir photographer is creating a space where your clients can let go and put their trust in me, and that's exactly what Katy did. As soon as we got started that empowering feeling took over and she was ready to jump in! We also decided that her home was the perfect location for the shoot, as well as a place where she would feel more at ease getting out of her comfort zone. Plus, her open concept, mid-century home is absolutely beautiful! So it was a win-win. We had so much fun finding pockets of light beaming through the windows and getting weird with some cool lens filters. And bonus- I had a few frames left on a disposable 35mm film camera! They came out so soft and natural, giving that nostalgic feeling that you get from capturing a fleeting moment on film. I just love them and wish I had brought a whole roll! Doing this shoot was such an honor and I'm so happy that Katy has these photos to reflect back on this season in her life and the absolute goddess that she is.
