Cathedral Park Elopement

Cathedral Park Elopement

Vici + Cliff's Cathedral Park Elopement in Portland, Oregon was an absolute dream. It was so full of love, joy, and happiness- you'd never know this wasn't what they had planned all along. Sadly, they were one of the many couples that had to change up their original plans for a big 2020 wedding with all of their friends and family from around the country and downsize it to an outdoor, intimate elopement with just a few local friends and out of town family joining via FaceTime. But they didn't let that get them down! Vici + Cliff are two of the most positive, fun, down to earth people we've ever met. So it was no surprise that they took what could have been a real bummer of a situation and turned it into something wonderful. They swapped out their indoor venue for the jaw dropping beauty of Cathedral Park, located beneath the St. John's Bridge in North Portland, and couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

We will never stop saying this - your wedding day is all about YOU! So no matter where you do it, as long as you're together, you're in the right place. Second, you should be having FUN! This was one of the most important things to Vici + Cliff as they reimagined what their wedding would look like. Embracing the importance of having fun ensures that you'll savor every single moment and sets the tone for the entire day, radiating positivity and infectious happiness to your partner as well as your guests. Letting loose on your wedding day lets your unique personalities shine through, making the experience truly your own. Oh, and if you can add pizza do that too. And make sure it's Gracies! This is exactly what Vici + Cliff did and it shows in all the joyful photos of their intimate Cathedral Park wedding.

Let's talk about the location. Cathedral Park in Portland, Oregon, isn't just your average park – nestled beneath the St. Johns Bridge, this hidden gem in the heart of the city perfectly complements the intimacy of an elopement. The bridge itself, built in 1929 with its iconic Gothic arches and elegant design, creates a romantic and ethereal ambiance. The lush greenery and serene waterfront location along the Willamette River offers a natural sanctuary, providing a sense of connection to nature without having to travel outside of the city. Whether you're exchanging vows beneath the arches, along the riverbank, or in front of the incredible willow tree, every corner of Cathedral Park offers a picturesque backdrop. If the elopement is just you, the officiant, and two witnesses you won't need to worry about getting a permit. But if you plan on doing anything more than that, you will need to get one. Cathedral Park is managed by Portland Parks and Recreation and you can find out more about how to get a permit here or take a look at their wedding guide for more information.

This was just such a joyous day filled with love, friends, pizza, and Rainier. Truly, what could be better? Enjoy taking a look through this beautiful celebration!
