Kate + Isaac // Marblemount, Washington // North Cascades National Park

Who knew one of the most beautiful places in the world is just 2 hours outside of Seattle. North Cascades National Park was unknown to us until our couple, Kate + Isaac, suggested it as the location for their engagement session. Its lush full furs surround still snow covered mountain tops in early Summer. Kate + Isaac are from Arizona and Minnesota so it was important to them to capture their engagement in a place that really showed the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and why they chose to start this next chapter of their lives here. We made short hikes around the many trails and snapping shots in-between moments of discussing the golden age of television (the best artists are working in tv right now), how it is so easy to be encompassed with the natural beauty of Washington State, and stories of how they met in college and fell in love. All the while doing our best to keep up with their rambunctious pup.

One of the best parts of Madye and I’s shared love for photographing couples is new places is that we get to explore and discover with new people. You get to see how they light up together, what gets them giggling, how they create memorable moments. Our goal is to make quick work of pulling away the sometimes awkwardness of having your artistic portraits taken and get right down to having a fun experience exploring something new. Before we knew it, the sun was starting to set and we had to tear off into the fading light and up a giant hill. The Northern Cascades were starting to glow and we wanted to catch the sun at Diablo Lake before the our time was out.
