Morgan + Zac // Hood River, Oregon // Columbia Gorge Hotel
About 10 minutes into our first meeting with Morgan + Zac we knew they were our people. That meeting turned into 3 hours of beer and pizza, chatting about growing up in the Midwest, and our mutual love of Grainbelt (a beer to be prominently featured at their wedding). These two have a positive energy that radiates off them and fills everyone in their proximity with joy. This was made even more evident on their wedding day.
Surrounded by their best friends and closest family, they kicked the day off with mimosas, maybe a shot or two of whiskey, and an abundant amount of laughter. In our opinion, the Columbia Gorge Hotel is one of the most beautiful and versatile venues in the Portland area. Located in Hood River, the hotel is enveloped in luscious greenery and gorgeous gardens around the property, including a walking bridge over a small creek that feeds into a waterfall, opening up to a stunning view of the Columbia River. It was the perfect place for their Pacific Northwest-inspired wedding. Top that off with everything being outdoors, including the twinkle light lit reception on the lawn, amazing florals provided by Bloomsbury of Kanaka Creek Farm, DELICIOUS (I must really express that, it was so good) dessert from Papa Haydn, live music by wedding band Big Bad Beat, creating an amazing dance party that eventually turned into karaoke accompanied by said band, and naturally infused vodka from local company Wyld Roots Spirits, I’d say they nailed the Pacific Northwest vibe they were aiming for.
