Why did you choose to have your wedding at Ironlight? What did you love about it?

Ironlight was the ideal setting for our wedding, blending modern elegance with breathtaking charm. The floor-to-ceiling windows framed dramatic vistas of rolling hills and Mt. Hood, creating a natural masterpiece. Inside, the venue’s understated details offered a perfect balance, allowing the beauty of the moment to take center stage.

What was your favorite moment from the day?

It’s hard to choose just one highlight, as the day flowed seamlessly and passed in the blink of an eye! One moment we really appreciated was when Madye and Taylor planned for us to take sunset photos, giving us a quiet, intimate moment to soak in the joy of being newly married. That brief escape, tucked into the magic of the evening, felt blissful—slowing time just enough for us to relax and return to the celebration with full hearts.

What advice would you give to future couples getting married?

Choosing the right team makes all the difference. With Madye, Taylor, and our incredible coordinator Katie, I didn’t have a single worry on our wedding day! Even when unexpected rain swept through before the ceremony—toppling the arbor and soaking the flowers and chairs—I stayed completely calm and happy, knowing they were handling everything. In fact, I didn’t even notice the rain until Madye pointed out the rainbow glowing in the background. Their care and expertise allowed me to fully enjoy every moment. Things might not always go as planned, but when you trust your team, the magic will shine through, no matter what happens behind the scenes.

The venue sits on the top floor of a modern, downtown building and boasts expansive views of the surrounding Cascade foothills, Mt. Hood, and the Willamette Valley. Ironlight features wrap-around floor-to-ceiling windows as well as a large terrace so you can utilize both indoor and outdoor spaces for your ceremony and reception. As anyone in the Pacific Northwest knows, it’s incredibly valuable to have a back up option for rain! Additionally, its close proximity to Portland provides plenty of accommodations and activities, which make it a great choice for weddings with a lot of guests traveling from out of town.
